How To Get More Power In Your Drives - 3 Keys To Make This Happen

The ambition of many handicap golfers is to be able to power a three hundred yarder every time down the fairway. That kind of hitting gets you noticed and you soon become the golfer everyone wants to watch and admire. Sadly, the average golfer struggles with the driver. All it takes, is a solid swing to put this right.

For most handicap golfers the driver is the one club in the bag everyone wants to be able to hit long and far. There is a lot of kudos associated with long hitting in the golfing fraternity, and we all want some of that.
Because of the deep face and absence of loft on the typical golf driver, many golfers find playing the club difficult. The tendency for the handicapper is to try and scoop the ball into the air instead of swinging the club and letting the loft take care of the rest.

To play those booming drives straight down the fairway, you need these three keys.

1. The ball must be played from the bottom of the swing. The correct position is to have the ball in line with the heel of the left shoe. The feet must be square to the line of flight and the stance width should be about your normal walking stride distance apart. The setup is really important and needs to checked regularly for any variation.

2. Move your weight to the right side at the top of the back swing. If you do not do this, you will not be able to hit long drives. To make this weight shift easier, tilt the upper body to the right at the address. As you do so you will feel the weight more on your right foot. About sixty percent.

3. You need a swing which is smooth yet powerful. One which will not let you down when the pressure is on. This kind of swing can be learned. See the link at the end of this article for more details.

How to Drive a Golf Ball Straight is Easy - 3 Tips by Todd Dosenberry

Learning how to drive a golf ball straight is often difficult for an amateur golfer. But, if you focus on the following tips then you will be surprised how easy it is to drive your golf ball down the middle of the fairway. I have put together 3 simple tips that if put to use will help you improve your accuracy off the tee box. Be sure to implement these into your game as soon as possible.

Tip #1 - VisualizeMastering how to drive a golf ball straight can be as simple as visualization. When you are at the tee box imagine yourself striking the ball with perfection, hitting it directly on the sweet spot. Hear the beautiful sound of a perfect tee shot and see the ball fly through the air and finally land on the middle of the fairway with a solid roll. Also, see yourself making the perfect swing, taking the club back on the perfect path and accelerating through the ball with great precision. See yourself hitting a perfect shot and actually performing the perfect shot becomes that much easier!

Tip #2 - Clear Your MindA lot of golfers will have lots and lots of swing thoughts rolling around in their mind. You may have a slice and you read something on the internet that will help you clear your slice. It is best to practice on the driving range. When you are out on the golf course be sure to clear your mind of any swing thoughts when you step up to the ball and are ready to swing. After you strike the ball then try to figure out what you did wrong. But after you visualize and are aimed correctly and have the proper stance, clear your mind and swing at the ball.

Tip #3 - Take the Club Back SlowlyIn order to hit the golf ball far you need to accelerate through the ball on your downswing. Many amateurs know this but will take the club back too fast causing them to loose club head speed on the downswing. If you want to know how to drive a golf ball straight and far then you must take the club back slowly. By doing this you will allow yourself to gain enough club head speed on the downswing. However, it is important to have a steady swing. Do not accelerate too much through the ball as this may cause you to be off plane and either slice or hook the ball with side spin.

The Awesome Step by Step Golf Swing - Develop Your Perfect Golf Swing Step by Step! by Simon Cad

So, you want the perfect step by step golf swing, right?
The problem is that you don't have the formula needed to pull off that sweet shot every time.

I once experienced the exact same problem that you are having right now!
Due to my pathetic golf swing, I felt like giving up. Each stroke I tried progressively harder, which only resulted in my swing becoming poorer.
Like you, I soon realised that I needed a step by step golf swing to follow to the letter.

You are about to finally discover the blueprint to your perfect golf swing.
So what is the secret?

1) The Approach
When you approach the ball, remember that you should be keeping your head in the same position throughout the swing, treat your head as the point in which your back and shoulders revolve. Screw this up and you shot it officially toast!

2) The Take Away
Your complete swing should not be sharp in the slightest, everything should be one nice fluid progress. Many golfers try too hard to swing at this point, thus resulting in inevitably slicing the ball.

3) Ball Contact
I can not stress enough how crucial it is that you follow through as the club advances on the ball. Failing to do so will result in the loss of accuracy and distance.

4) Follow Through
Once the ball is in mid-flight, analyse your body positioning. Make sure that your body is faced towards where you originally wanted to hit the ball.

Warning: Depending on your ability the above can take some time to master.

However...

If you want play killer golf in two weeks regardless of your current ability, then you need to see this awesome step by step golf swing.
Once you discover these secret techniques, you can finally become almost unbeatable quickly and easily.

What is on a Typical Golf Course? by Conrad Black

There are many reasons to take up golf. It is a hugely user-friendly sport which can be played by everybody. It is no longer the game of the elite, with only the gentry turning up ahead of breakfast to take part in a quick 18. Today there are courses provided by regional governments that do not require you to shell out ridiculous fees, just a small fee each time you play a round.

An additional reason is that the equipment required to play golf has become much more inexpensive. Sure, there are still professional quality clubs, balls and shoes which sell for professional money, but there is now a vast selection of products aimed at the golfer who wants to try out the game, and discover without being financially crippled in the mean time.

If you need more evidence then you only have to look at the exercise you will get. Not only does the physical striking of the ball take effort, so does the walking from shot to shot. There are many, many yards to walk on a golf course, and this provides superb cardio vascular exercise, while the physical act of striking the ball can provide you with a useful muscular workout, especially around your back and arm areas.

Golf is also a very social game, one which can be played among friends, and certainly one where you can make contacts. It is competitive, but you will continually be able to learn from your golfing partners, and in selected forms of the game you have to work as a team, so it promotes a sense of teamwork too.
Lastly, golf is addictive! Once you start golfing, you might find it becomes a bit of a passion. With so many aspects, both physical and mental being part of the game, it is often hard to remember how your time was filled before you started playing! Because of the nature of the game, it encompasses age groups from kids to grandparents, and everyone in between.

If you are considering taking up a additional sport, give golf a try. Everyone seems to know someone who plays, so just try it out - or visit your local driving range and hit a few balls and see how it feels. Be cautious though, those greens will keep calling you back!

How your Health can benefit from a round of Golf

How your Health can benefit from a round of Golf.

Believe it or not, golf is actually good for your health and not just watching on T.V.. Even the United States Golf Association thinks so; they also advise that you should walk the golf course instead of riding in a golf cart.
Although riding golf carts is the easist way to get yourself from one hole to the next, it will actually be good for your body if you
walk your legs along the greens. Doing so pumps your heart, circulates the blood all over your body, and is a good and fun way of
exercising.
Most experts will tell you that the most pleasurable way to play golf is by walking. Depending on your age and health condition, riding carts should be used only when needed.
Walking is an excellent form of exercise. It is the most basic and easy program of getting fit which almost anyone could do.
Simply put, walking is good for you.
Although some believe that walking the golf course is a very unhealthy thing to do because of the nature of the game the start and stop process of golf playing. In actuality though, there have been scientific studies as well as evidence of people actually telling
their personal experiences on the positive effects of walking through a game of golf. In another study, golfers who walked the course were found to be in a better state of health because the level of bad cholesterol in
their body decreased. Meanwhile, the level of their good cholesterol was steady. Those golfers who settled to ride their way
across the golf course on golf carts,, however, did not show these same positive health results.
Also, according to a golf International study , four hours of golf playing was found to be comparable to attending a forty five minute
fitness class.
Another golf association, stated that when a golfer walks across a course, it is roughly equivalent to walking up to three or four miles. This included walking around hills, over greens and tees.
Not convinced yet? Maybe you should try doing the following activities and see, as well as feel, the difference for yourself.
1. During a round of golf, try to walk along alternating holes so that by the end of your round of golf you should be able to have
walked through a total of nine holes.
2. If you are feeling not up to it yet as fully as you should, that is okay. Maybe you could try walking on a set of nines while you can
ride the other set.
3. If you have a golf partner and he or she insists that you ride along with him or her, make sure that you only ride on the path of
the cart. You can then walk down to the fairway towards your ball and then your partner could bring the golf cart up.
Are you convinced yet? If not, try to look at it this way. If your health is not good enough for you to settle to walk those legs and
pump that good old heart of yours, then at least take pity and be considerate of the damage that golf carts do to fairways.
Believe it or not, golf carts do create damage around sand traps and around the greens. Even if carts are not supposed to ride
along these areas, sometimes though, depending on who is behind the golf carts wheel, they still at times do.
For the sake of the greens, go walk! Because of advances in technology, there are now grasses that are able to grow on areas that
they originally are not supposed to grow on at all. As a result of this, golf courses look as amazing as they were before.
Unfortunately, these same golf courses are as subject to a lot of wear and tear as well.
Driving a golf cart along these beautiful greens subjects them to unnecessary damage. So now that you know, it would not hurt
you to consider walking along, across, over, or through those greens now would it?
